Common questions and first checks

My NBN internet is down. What should I check first?
Before calling, these three checks resolve a surprising number of faults:
  1. Power-cycle your equipment: turn off the NBN connection box and your router at the wall, wait 60 seconds, turn the NBN box on first, wait for its lights to settle, then the router.
  2. Check the lights: note which lights are red, off or flashing on the NBN box. Telling us this speeds up diagnosis enormously.
  3. Check cabling: make sure nothing has been unplugged or switched at the power point.
Still down? Call (07) 4040 2000. As your provider we deal with NBN Co on your behalf, and our 24/7 monitoring often means we already know about the outage.
My phone system (PBX) has a fault. Can you fix it remotely?
In most cases, yes. Our technicians provide remote support for over 5000 PBX systems across most brands, and cloud systems like NEC Univerge Blue can usually be diagnosed and fixed without a site visit at all. For hardware faults on on-premise systems, we dispatch a local technician. Call us with your business name and a description of the fault (e.g. "no dial tone on all handsets" vs "one extension not ringing") and we'll take it from there.
What should I have ready when I call support?
  • Your business name and the site address the issue relates to.
  • What service is affected: internet, phones, mobile, satphone or Microsoft 365.
  • When it started, and whether anything changed beforehand (power outage, storm, office move, new equipment).
  • For internet faults: the status of the lights on your NBN box and router.
Do you support equipment you didn't supply?
Usually, yes. TeleBiz deploys and supports a very wide range of brands, including Alcatel, NEC, Panasonic, Yealink, Cisco and Draytek, and we provide localised installation and maintenance services for tier-one carriers too. If you've inherited a system from another supplier, call us; chances are we know it well.
How does the 24/7 connectivity monitoring work?
TeleBiz NBN services include 24/7 live connectivity monitoring. Our systems watch your connection around the clock and flag drop-outs, often before you've noticed. Technical response to issues is normally during business hours, Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
I need help with my satellite phone in a remote area
As a regional market leader in sat phones across every major network (Iridium, Inmarsat, Thuraya, Pivotel and more), we can help with activation, plans, troubleshooting and repairs. If you're contacting us from a satphone, remember you can also use our free Send an SMS to IsatPhone tool to have someone message you back.
Billing or account questions
All your TeleBiz services appear on our single monthly billing system, so you get one bill and one point of contact. For billing queries, plan changes or to add services, email service@telebiz.com.au or call during business hours.
